Jebel Al Lawz, rising 2580m above sea level, is one of the only accessible mountains in the Kingdom to experience snowfall in winter. This is what many visitors driving up the windy road through the Midian mountain range hope to see. At the very least, they are guaranteed spectacular views over the range.

The middle and lower slopes of Jabal Maqlā consist of light-colored granite, which has intruded into the overlying hornfels. This is the same granite that comprises Jabal al-Lawz. Jabal al-Lawz. In early October Phil Roberts and I went to Tabuk for the weekend to look at Jabal al-Lawz. This is a mountain located in northwest Saudi Arabia, near the Jordan border, above the Gulf of Aqaba at 2580 metres above sea level. It is Saudi Arabia's second highest mountain after Jebal Soudah near Abha in the southwest of the Kingdom.

Ron Wyatt went to Jebel al-Lawz in Saudi Arabia with his two sons in 1984. They were arrested for entering Saudi Arabia illegally and were expelled after 78 days. Eleven months later, Wyatt returned with David Fasold and his "molecular frequency generator" to look for the "gold of the Exodus."

This 28 acre site, first described and photographed in the 1990s by travelers Jim and Penny Caldwell, appears to be a Bronze Age cemetery that may be related to ca. 1445 BC Mount Sinai events. Site description: A group of granitic mountains with at least 20 peaks over 2,000 m, rising from 700 m to a maximum of 2,549 m (Jabal Fayhan, the tallest mountain in northern Arabia and high enough to have snow in winter). There is some permanent running water and the rocky high mountain habitats are densely vegetated in places, with clear zoning.
